My Tessellation

I made my tessellation on jigsaw puzzles. I first made a jigsaw template then cut it onto a blue paper. Once I cut out the whole page I started gluing them onto the purple paper. Pasting them onto it the paper like a real jigsaw.

Maths

This game I had to find out how many pints were in an amount of gallons. My first try was hard because I didn't know how to work out pints and gallons. As soon as I found out pints it was a lot easier. This game helped me with volume. This  week I was trying to work and solve problems in strand. This game was really useful.

The Beach

The sun awoke the beach. The sight of Rangitoto was absolutely beautiful. Crowds of people arrived amazingly fast in their swimsuits ready to get their beach on. The light from the sun glittered the sea like shiny gold. The laughter in everyone’s voice filled the air. The sight of children splashing in the water was impossible to miss. Barbeques, fresh hot chickens and fruit salads erupted like a volcano. Mission Bay was busier than ever.

There were long lines leading towards the ice-cream truck. Jackson waited and waited looking at everyone grab their ice-creams and give it it’s first exaggerating lick. Customers filled their hands with ice-cream cones. The line moved slower than a snail. Jackson was finally second place. The customer in front of him was very muscular and tall. When Jackson heard the man in front of him speak, he bursted into laughter. He couldn’t help it so he said “How can a man that muscular speak like a little girl.”
When the man in front of him heard that his face lit up like a ripe tomato.

Jackson blinked then saw the same muscular built man stand right in front of his nose. With such fright he took a humungous gulp. His tongue crawled at the back of his throat. He choked and coughed all over the man's muscles.  He shouldn’t have done that.

In such horror he ran for his life. He reached the water and dived in. He thought that he out ran the man. He stood up and the water in his clothes leaked like a running tap. Trying to ring out his clothes he saw a shadow up above him. It was the man. He was holding two ice-creams and looked amazingly scary. Jackson yelled “I’m sorry, I’m sorry”
The man just laughed. “ Why are you sorry for I was only trying to give you an ice-cream” He said.
The man gave Jackson the Ice-cream and walked towards his family. Jackson yelled out thank you, then went to his family. Jackson looked at his Ice-cream and just smiled.

Meeting two guys from Parliament

I also talking to two people from the parliament. One that was actually a lawyer for two years, so I learnt  it from him. And the other guy Alfred, introduced me to Sam the guy that was a lawyer for two years. So it was really cool.

Meeting the Minister of health

Talking with the minister of health, was really interesting. I told him things of my own experience taking swab tests. I told him that it was tickly when they did it. Then Tony Ryall asked the nurse it they did it easy on him. And we were just laughing.

Maths

I have been learning about Mean, Median, mode and range. Using worksheets and games online.

The Escape

Walt: Write a narrative

The Escape

Boston was still inside the burning house, screeching for help, but no one arrived. Searching afraidly for an exit. Desperately needing to breathe. His head spinning round from all the smoke. His face as red as a ripe tomato, and a badly burnt arm, bleeding like a running tap. The smell of perspiration smells like he hasn’t had a shower in years. Crying for help, then sees himself tilting over, then finally gets smashed to the ground.

He awakes in an ambulance, speeding along the road. He leaps up in such fright, thinking how did I get out. One of the paramedics manage to calm him down, and talk him through where they are taking him and telling him that hes going to be alright. He looks at his arm, and the wound looks unhealable. Boston collapsed in just a few seconds.

They reached the hospital, and Boston peeks daisingly. His head still spinning and his vision looks like a blur. “He needs  medical attention immediately” says one of the paramedics, then takes him into the E.D medical room. The doctor seeks his arm and says “This is really bad, I’m not sure I can” then his words become silent like mute on a t.v. His eyes too sore to keep open and his head to sore to keep working, he deflated again, only this time for a few days.

He was awoken by a short figure over him. It was his little sister trying to wake him from his sleep. With his parents on the side of his bed, relieved with tears. As his dad goes to kiss him on his forehead, he stops and says “Man you really need to have a shower” They all laugh. “How did you escape” his mum says. “Well I actually don’t know. How did I escape?”

Sports Camp: The Final Cheer

Walt: write a narrative

Sports Camp: The Final Cheer

As the whistle blew through the wind, the ball flew across the court. Bodies sprinted against the wind, stepping and  passing through the other team.  Already four points behind we’re struggling to keep going. Heavy breathings, and slow movements,  sore muscles restricted our movements. As the ball went up, everyone’s conscious to see what happens, the ball hit the rim tilting in. The whistle blows.

All the players dragged themselves off the court and swallowed their water like they hadn’t drank in a whole week. Still getting hydrated and catching their breath listening to what needs to happen in the next half.  The coach belching out  orders. Then the dreaded whistle blows again, “all in G.I” says the captain. Greens up on three, one, two, three Greens up. Hard!

As the team feelings lifted, they all rush onto the court with the heads held high, smiles, and the skills they know. Four points down, we need to win this its the last half to this final game. The whistle goes, and G.I sprints everywhere, Bethlehem struggling to keep up. The cheers from the sidelines strengthened them up. The ball went into the ring, up it went, and goal. Everyone’s getting their strength back, passionate to win this game. Again into the ring goal, goal, goal, goal.

It was finally full time,we had beaten Bethlehem by four. We all cheered for Bethlehem with massive smiles and red faces. Everyones backs were up straight, no limping, or anything. The girls were really overjoyed, but that didn’t stop them from saying thank you to their opponents.  The game was difficult but G.I managed to walk out of there with the Netball trophy. Underlay, Underlay, we are G.I, G.I oooohhhh.

Probably a Favourite

Probably a Favourite

This game was absolutely easy. I wasn't challenged at all.

In this game I had to read the list on the left hand side, then put the right numbers into the boxes by clicking the up button or the down button.

There was no challenging part so maybe Mrs Ramkolowan should think about finding a game that's more difficult.

Annoying Gorilla

To: Staff of Glen Innes School
From: Anonymous

Dear staff
I need to warn you.  There is an annoying gorilla making fart noises, and screaming in people’s ears when someone or something is near him. You might think that might not be normal, but this is even more weirder he has been ageing 20 years in one day. It might keep going. I don’t know if its contagious. So Watch OUT.

Yours sincerely
Britney

Valentine

Valentine

In this story Valentine, the problem is that Robbie thinks Karen doesn’t like him.

On valentine day, Robbie goes to the dairy, just before the bus arrives. He looks for a simple but fantastic gift for Karen. Something that could fit under his sweatshirt so it couldn’t be noticed by anyone. There were a lot of flowers, just screeching with colour. He picked a single rose. Then just in time to hop onto the bus.

He was planning to give it to her at interval. But at maths time, Karen was hanging out with expensive Brett Harvey. Sitting alone, and waiting for her to talk to him. At interval she was again with Brett Harvey. He gave up.

The solution was that Robbie didn’t want to want to see Karen so decided to walk home.Walking home he saw Karen sitting next to the bus stop. She gave Robbie a envelope. Inside was a green wax paper. It said “To Robbie, Happy valentine.

Fear

Fear

Ahh! screams and shouts could be heard from inside the dare crusher the most scariest ride of all. It was scarier because it was halloween. The volunteers and staff members were dressed brilliantly they really did look like horrid monsters.

As we were traveling through the mountain of doom it stopped. Everyone thought it was part of ride but soon all became FEARFUL. I could feel the hairs on my back stand up but, then suddenly fall louse. Jordan was getting restless and everyone was getting hungry.

TJ searched for a emergency exit, but had no more energy in him. Jordan wheres your phone said Jayden good idea. Oh left it in the bag. now  what?

crackle, crackle, crackle, crackle it sounded like the ride was going to start again everyone jump on I screamed. As we had our tummys turning we managed to get out. Alive.

Milk in Schools

Walt: Share my thoughts on “Milk in Schools”

Milk in Schools

I think that some children are wealthy enough to get their own milk. And some people don’t have that much money to buy milk to be drank.

I think that parents with money should be able to supply their children with milk. But maybe the government needs to give those those that can’t afford milk, so they can get through the day, without being tired.

It would help all children to get through the day perfectly fine. It will also make their bones stronger so children don’t collapse in class.

For some people in Glen Innes it is because of poverty. Some peoples houses are being moved, which makes them have to look for new homes.

Cross Country Run

Cross Country

It's great to get out surely you see,
To run like the wind so fast and so free.
To blaze a long trail wherever you go,
It just doesn't matter if you're fast or you're slow.

A cross country run or a jog in the street,
A couple of miles on fast moving feet
Your arms are a pumping your bloods in a rush
But it's so much better than taking a bus.

Out with some friends and having some fun
It really is great when you're out for a run.
No matter the weather, sun, snow or rain
You'll only get better if you continue to train.
So run with your body your heart and your mind
It's pleasure and fun I'm sure you will find.
Sometimes it's hard. "That's enough!" you will say,
At the end of a session, a really tough day.

The next time will be better just wait and see
And again you'll be running alive and so free.
So never give up wherever you are
The finishing line is not really far.

As you cross the line,
You're feeling fine,
As you beat the record,
Your fast, and your first.

This maths game was really hard. Most of the time I was getting confused and muddle up. After a while, It got bigger and bigger and higher, and higher. The fruit jube machine, produces two types of jubes. They come out in random orders. I didn't really understand it so, I couldn't go that far. Give it go then reply to me if you get it.

Jacqui Brown

Walt: to write a character study, from someone from The Argument.

Jacqui Brown- the narrator

Jacqui Brown is an interesting character in the story, The argument.  He displays several qualities which make him/ an interesting character. Jacqui Brown is really concerned.  This is evident when he runs into the garden. He is also curious.  We witness this when, even though his mum told him not to go, he went through the bushes to the outlook to look across the bay.  This essay will show that Jacqui Brown possesses the two qualities just mentioned.  This essay will also show how the examples just mentioned show unique qualities.

Min

WALT: analyze the character in a story.

Min

Min has been to many places around the world. She now lives in a caravan. Instead of going to her yoga, she goes to her daughters school on international day and speaks about how it was. She wears a Crimson Sari, and takes different instruments from different countries. She is excited that Ms Mooliba is coming to her caravan. She lights candles and awaits for her arrival. They sit down and eat one of Mins famous Greek dishes. They all laugh and have a really good time.
